Dr. Jotterand performed my surgery. Because this was my fifth surgery on the eye it was under general anaesthesia. I am GREAT. Both my eyes are looking straight ahead. Esthetically my eyes are WONDERFUL. I will admit vanity does play a part overall but the greatest thing that happened when she tested my eyes is my vision has also improved. My double vision is stabilizing and I believe will disappear completely, something I have had my entire life. Here is the very best part...all my life the only letter I could see on the eye chart with my right eye was the first one...E...that's it, no more...my post operative exam I saw and read the second line and one letter of the third. A small thing? I think not, a very HUGE thing for me.
Dr. Jotterand is totally focused on her work, my eyes. She is a brilliant surgeon and is open and friendly answering any and all questions that I have. She has chosen an office staff that is not only a complement to her but should be a model for the entire medical community.
Sincerely,
Sandra R. Bahan, AGE 61

I want to let you know that everything has gone well with my strabismus surgery. My optometrist was amazed at how much better my vision was. At Disneyland, I could enjoy a 3-D movie with 3-D glasses for the first time in my life. I can play catch with my son now without missing the baseball. I have attended events where I no longer have to worry about which seat, angle, head direction, and room position I'm in. I no longer scare anyone off with a cross-eyed look. I don't shy away from the mirror anymore. This "tiny" surgery has made huge positive changes in my behavior. Thirty years ago I was told to "just live with it."
Thank you so very much to you and your staff for changing my life.
Glenn Miya MD
You're never too old to change. I grew up with what lay people called a "lazy eye" and professionals diagnosed as Strabismus. At 15 the doctors told me there was nothing they could do. I felt helpless when at 35 both my eyes got progressively worse. At 44 I decided to do something about it. Dr. Veronique Jotterand performed the short procedure on both my eyes. Now I can look straight into another person's eyes. No one has to guess where I'm looking. I can even see 3-D effects where before my surgery I could not. It's never too late to change your life for the better. Do it today.
Sue Egan
I went through the early part of my life with a lazy eye (Exotropia Strabismus). I pretended that it did not bother me, but when I would have face to face conversations with people it was always in the back of my mind. When I addressed someone from a distance they would turn their heads to see if someone was standing behind them, because that is where my lazy eye was looking. At age 30, I found out there was a procedure to have my eyes corrected and decided to have it done. Dr. Jotterand was the doctor I chose to perform the operation. I feel she did an outstanding job because it has been about 10 years since my surgery and my eyes are still perfectly straight, and I have not had any problems. The only thing I regret was not knowing about this procedure earlier in life.

On January 24, 2001, our 9-month-old son, Tyler, had surgery to correct strong bilateral strabismus. Dr. Jotterand performed the surgery with excellent results. Tyler's eyes are now straight and focused. Our friends, family members, and strangers frequently comment on his beautiful blue eyes. Beyond the aesthetic results, however, we immediatley noticed a positive change in Tyler's disposition. He became much less fussy and irritable - he seemed happier. We also observed improvement in Tyler's eye-hand coordination and a heightened interest / awareness of his environment. We are incredibly thankful to Dr. Jotterand for the intellect, skill, and care she chooses to share - our son has benefited greatly.
Sincerely,
John and Krista Dykes
I can't begin to tell you how good it is after three years of seeing double to see normal again.
The bow tie procedure Dr. Jotterand speaks about is wonderful, no pain and simple. Recovery is fast.
I can't praise her enough for such a fine job and I am very thankful.

I can't thank you enough for giving me a better lease on life. As you know, I had a lazy eye that was getting lazier. I already had a very high prescription to keep my eyes in focus but it was getting to a point where I couldn't focus at all while driving at night. Then by some miracle I decided to go to an Ophthalmologist that lived near me. She immediately recommended I go to see you. Up to this time many Ophthalmologists had told me previously that my eye could not be straightened at my age. Well, you took one look at my eyes and said that it could be straightened. You did straighten it, which was one of the best things that could happen to me. The surgery was almost a year ago and my eyes are still perfectly straight. Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Barbara J. Nichols
The main reason I had the surgery to straighten my right eye is because after 60+ years it started turning in and it hurt when it did. Also, I did not like the way that I looked, so vanity played a part.
I don't care how old you are, (I was 75), I think anyone would like to feel and look better.
I also am very fortunate because I did not end up with double vision instead my bad eye improved from 20 - 70 to 20 - 30. I can even use it to put eyemake up on. I still have singular focus vision but I'd do it again if necessary.
Sincerely,
Margine R. Reese
