Veronique H. Jotterand,
M.D., FRCSC

After completing her undergraduate studies at McGill University in Canada and Lausanne University in Switzerland, Dr. Jotterand was awarded her M.D. from the University of Montreal in 1981. She continued her training and residency at McGill University and Laval University in Quebec. She then earned a Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship from the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the UCLA School of Medicine.

By writing, publishing and presenting a variety of research over the past twenty years, Dr. Jotterand has established herself as one of the leading and most highly regarded specialists in pediatric ophthamology.

Beginning in January of 2002, Dr. Jotterand will be serving as the Vice Chair of Pediatric Surgery at Long Beach Miller Childrens Hospital. From 1996 to 1999 she also served as the Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology at the University of California, Irvine. She is currently the Chief of Division of Ophthalmology at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach.

Laura A. Syniuta,
M.D.

Dr. Syniuta graduated Cum Laude from Harvard University in 1985 with a B.A. in Biology. She continued her extensive education at Columbia College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York, St. George's University School of Medicine in the West Indies, Albany Medical School in New York, and Newton Wellesley Hospital in Massachusetts.

From 1995 to 1998, Dr. Syniuta completed her Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. She followed this up by earning a Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship from the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the UCLA School of Medicine.

Throughout her education and spanning into her career, Dr. Syniuta has received much recognition and won several awards.. Continuing to stake her claim as a rising star, she has conducted extensive research and published a variety of studies in the field of Ophthalmology.

In addition to her medical career, Dr. Syniuta also enjoys performing in operatic productions.
 





Joanne Myung,
O.D.

Board Certified Optometrist

Dr. Myung received a B. S. in Biology from University of California at Irvine in 1998.  She is a graduate of the SUNY College of Optometry and received her O.D. in 2003.

Dr. Myung has externship training in cornea and contact lenses where she was extensively involved in fitting and managing patients with keratoconus, high myopia, irregular cornea, pediatric aphakia, and prosthetic lenses.  She also has externship training at Syracuse V.A. Hospital managing patients for routine eye care with emphasis on ocular disease.

Dr. Myung joined Dr. Jotterand's practice in April of 2004.  She provides comprehensive eye examination to children and adults, and prescribes glasses and or contact lenses when necessary. Dr. Myung performs all the fitting of soft and rigid gas permeable contact lenses for this office.

In addition, Dr. Myung is an associate at a practice specializing in Vision Therapy and Developmental Optometry.  She is currently in the process of becoming a Fellow in College of Optometrists in Vision Development.
